Registered Manager
Daisy Fernandez is the Registered Manager of Swanborough House, Brighton’s specialist acquired brain injury (ABI) residential rehabilitation service. Having managed the home since 2015, and with more than 20 years of experience in neurorehabilitation and adult social care, Daisy brings a strong blend of clinical expertise, warmth and steady leadership to the community.
Having worked at Swanborough House for many years, Daisy has developed a deep understanding of the residents, the service and the unique needs of individuals living with acquired brain injury. Her background as an Occupational Therapist gives her valuable insight into how ABI can affect daily life, independence and emotional wellbeing. This clinical foundation underpins her compassionate, person-centred approach, ensuring each resident’s strengths, goals and personal journey remain at the heart of their rehabilitation and support.
Daisy also holds a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, enabling her to lead with clarity, empathy and a strong focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement. She is passionate about fostering a positive team culture and delivering the highest standards of care and rehabilitation.
Under her leadership, Swanborough House continues to thrive as a warm, inclusive environment where residents are supported to rebuild confidence, regain skills and live meaningful, fulfilling lives.
Kalule has worked in the health and social care sector for more than 15 years, specialising in the management of acquired brain injury (ABI) services. Drawing on his knowledge of psychology and sociology, he is passionate about delivering positive, person-centred outcomes for the people supported at Swanborough House.
In his role, Kalule provides operational leadership, oversees regulatory compliance and supports the ongoing development of the team. He works alongside a dedicated group of professionals, including Rehabilitation Assistants and a full therapy team comprising Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.
What first drew Kalule to brain injury rehabilitation was witnessing the remarkable progress individuals can make with the right support. He finds it incredibly rewarding to see residents build confidence, regain skills and achieve their personal goals through rehabilitation, while working closely with healthcare professionals to deliver a truly holistic and coordinated service.
At Swanborough House, Kalule is proud of the strong sense of community that exists throughout the home. He believes that every member of the team plays an important role in helping residents achieve the best possible outcomes. Feedback from residents and families is always valued, helping the team to continually improve and ensure the highest standards of care, support and rehabilitation.

Deputy Manager

Head of Domestic Services
Kerry joined Swanborough House as a newcomer to the care sector, looking for a fresh challenge and a new opportunity to develop her skills. From day one, she was impressed by the professionalism, dedication and strong sense of community that define life at Swanborough House.
Starting in the laundry department, Kerry gained valuable experience supporting different areas of the home and quickly developed an appreciation for the importance of teamwork and high standards of service. These experiences led to her current role as Head of Domestic Services, where she is committed to maintaining an exceptional environment for residents, visitors and colleagues.
What Kerry believes makes Swanborough House truly special is its warm and welcoming atmosphere. The recent refurbishment has further enhanced the home, creating a vibrant, comfortable and homely environment for both residents and staff. She is proud to be part of a community that values excellence, compassion and teamwork, and looks forward to contributing to its continued success.
Lorena is a dedicated Physiotherapist with more than 20 years of experience supporting people living with acquired brain injuries and neurological conditions. Her experience spans a wide range of complex needs, from severe neurological injuries through to slow-stream rehabilitation.
She has a strong passion for understanding how the human body functions and a particular interest in neurology and the complexities of the brain.
Lorena takes a holistic approach to rehabilitation, working closely with residents and the wider multidisciplinary team to help individuals achieve their full potential, maximise independence and enjoy the best possible quality of life.

Physiotherapist

Activities Co-ordinator
Michelle has worked as an Activities Coordinator at Swanborough House since 2018 and describes the role as one of the most rewarding, challenging and fulfilling experiences of her career. Working closely with residents each day has enabled her to build strong relationships based on trust, understanding and mutual respect.
Michelle feels privileged to play a part in supporting residents on their rehabilitation journeys and helping to make a positive difference in their lives. The role has helped her develop valuable skills in communication, problem-solving and adaptability, while working with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.
Through her work, Michelle has come to value integrity, compassion and honesty above all else. She is proud to be part of the Swanborough House community and feels grateful to work alongside such inspiring residents and colleagues every day.
Lilly-Mae joined Swanborough House in October 2023 as a Rehabilitation Assistant, supporting residents with their daily routines and helping them work towards their rehabilitation goals.
Through this role, she developed a strong understanding of the importance of patience, consistency and compassion in delivering meaningful, person-centred support. Over time, Lilly-Mae became increasingly involved in activity planning, building positive relationships with residents and encouraging engagement, motivation and independence.
This experience led her to transition into her current role as Activities Coordinator. Lilly-Mae now focuses on creating engaging, person-centred activities that support residents’ emotional, social and physical wellbeing. She enjoys bringing people together, encouraging confidence and independence, and finding creative ways to make each day enjoyable, meaningful and fulfilling for the individuals she supports.
