I am Kalule and I have worked in the Health and Care sector for over 15 years specifically management in ABI, where I have been able to use my knowledge in psychology and sociology to provide intentional outcomes for the people we work with.

With in my role, I provide operational leadership, compliance delivery, and team development across the home. This is guided by a strong team of professionals including, Rehabilitation Assistants, a full therapy team, comprising of a Physio therapist, Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapy and Rehabilitation Assistants. What really guided me to brain injury was seeing the successful journeys of the people we work with. It’s always a triumph seeing the progress that they make every single day due to their hard work at their rehabilitation while closely, liaising with other professionals in ensuring we deliver a wraparound service for them.

At Swanborough, we are a family that sees each other through the day, going on about our different roles but working together to ensure the people we are supporting are getting the best care out there.  For this reason, we are especially grateful when we get feedback as it enables change in the right direction or it ensures that we continue to do what seems to bring a smile all our residents and their loved ones. Come and visit and talk to us about your needs and we shall ensure they are tailored around you.

Kerry

Head of Domestic Services

I joined Swanborough House as a newcomer to the industry, eager for a fresh challenge. From day one, I was impressed by the professionalism and dedication that define this community. Starting in the laundry department, I gained valuable experience supporting various areas and learned the importance of teamwork and service excellence. These opportunities led to my current role as Head of Domestic Services, where I am committed to maintaining high standards and fostering collaboration.

What makes Swanborough House truly special is its welcoming atmosphere and the recent makeover, which has transformed the space into a more vibrant, comfortable, and homely environment for residents and staff alike. It’s a joy to be part of a place that not only values excellence but also feels like home. I look forward to contributing further to Swanborough House’s continued success.

Activities Co-ordinator

I’ve been working as an Activities Coordinator at Swanborough House since 2018, and it’s been the most challenging, exciting, and emotional work I’ve ever done. Working closely with residents every day naturally builds a professional closeness, and seeing their trust in me grow is truly heart-warming.

I feel privileged to have a role that contributes to changing people’s lives for the better. This busy environment has shaped me as a person. I’ve learned so much about myself, grown stronger through obstacles, and honed skills like problem-solving and flexibility when working with diverse personalities.

Over the years, I’ve come to deeply value integrity, compassion, and honesty. I love and appreciate the work I do and feel grateful to be part of our wonderful family of residents.
I began working at Swanborough House in October 2023 as a Rehabilitation Assistant, supporting residents in their daily routines and helping them work towards their recovery goals.

In this role, I learned how important patience, consistency, and compassion are in providing meaningful care. Over time, I naturally became more involved in planning activities, building rapport with residents, and helping them stay engaged and motivated.

Because of this, I transitioned into my current role as an Activities Coordinator. Now, I focus on creating person-centred activities that support residents’ emotional, social, and physical wellbeing. I enjoy bringing people together, encouraging independence, and finding creative ways to make each day more positive and fulfilling for the individuals we support. My journey reflects my commitment to helping residents live more enriched and meaningful lives.
